South Bend
Hospitality Industry

Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the South Bend area.

Just a short drive to the east along I-80 / I-90, yet far enough away to clear all traces of the megalopolis, South Bend offers an urban environment with a manageable size and all of the comforts and features of larger towns, with easy access on less crowded state and county roads to the surrounding Amish countryside of rural Indiana and Michigan, also known as Michiana. The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore with its Lake Michigan beaches and its unusual mix of white pines, wood ferns and desert flora, is at the mouth of the St. Joseph River in Michigan City, just a short drive away. South Bend offers a first class symphony orchestra, center for the performing arts, museum of art and the Potawatomi Zoo, Indiana’s oldest zoological park. South Bend was the home of the Studebaker automobile, whose popularity carried over from the days when the Studebaker horse-drawn wagon was the preferred brand for westbound pioneers. The special cabinets which held and stored the Singer sewing machine were manufactured in South Bend and distributed world-wide. South Bend is now the home of Honeywell, and the internationally famous University of Notre Dame. The South Bend – Michawaka area of St. Joseph County offers the full spectrum of lodging options, from intimate bed and breakfast inns to full-service downtown hotels, where you can always find the best accommodations for your itinerary.
